New class
« on: April 15, 2010, 02:24:32 PM »
So this is one of those things that will either flop pathetically or do good, but i was thinking for a while now.

Vintage mod.

Bring your old generation cars and race em. I think it'd be a blast but the problem is that how would you seperate trucks or buggys. I think it'd be fun to try out one night, but i don't think it'd be something that would last. maybe you could have small restrictions like older ESCs and brushed only so it's like it was in the day. if people still have those old speed gems laying around they could dig em out. it'd be like entering the old days haha.

I say try it out one night. I got a t3 that's gonna annihalate.

But before people laugh at me realize this'd just be for fun for one night.

A T3 isn't that old, lol. They do vintage at some track around here I thought, but I may be wrong.

How badly do you want a gold tub rc10?  I have one that was to be my next project.  Needs tires, body and wing.  Presently has the truck conversion installed, but I still have the original front arms.

Dude a Tamiya egress is over 900 dollars! He has a bunch of vintage Tamiya and kyosho. Todd might remember.. I'm not sure is he was collecting them when he lived in Rutland..

he doesent run any of his collector cars. he bought the egress as a hunk of junk and refurberished it. the whole car is made out of carbon fiber. its about the best car tamiya made in the 80s

I have several brushed Tekin and Novak ESC's that were top of the line about 15 years ago.  All in good working order.
I used one in my SC10 until I had to buy a BL motor to run that class.

Oops, made in this century I can't tell them apart.
Plus the owner of that one has too many trucks to count... all with that paint scheme (tmaxxdaddy).

Yes it is.  Raced it back in 1987 and still going strong... just bend it back.
Most of those hard-packed track pictures were taken in Sept 2008 at RCHR.  The red JG bodied Hotshot was my one and only shelf queen for about 8 months... then one night I snapped and put electronics in it.   ^_^
